Curriculum Overview

ELCHK Lutheran Academy’s Aerospace Curriculum is a six-year program designed to inspire and prepare students for the rapidly evolving fields of space science and technology. Aligned with STEAM principles and the IB framework, the curriculum fosters critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and innovation through hands-on, inquiry-based learning.  

From Year 4 to Year 9, students progress through themed roles—Space Explorer, Satellite Pioneer, Space City Architect, Satellite Innovator, Rocket Scientist, and Payload and Space City Engineer—each building on the last to develop deep knowledge and practical skills. Topics range from astronomy, robotics, and satellite technology to rocket science, space experiments, and the design of sustainable space habitats.  

The curriculum emphasizes real-world applications, project-based learning, and design thinking, culminating in capstone projects like building and launching CubeSats, designing rovers, and simulating space city models. Students also engage with advanced technologies such as 3D printing, IoT, coding, and AI, preparing them for future academic and career opportunities in aerospace.  

Through exhibitions, mentorship, and participation in local and global challenges, students showcase their work and connect with the broader aerospace community. The program aims to nurture globally minded pioneers who can contribute meaningfully to the future of space exploration and technological innovation.
